After splitting from Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez seems eager to embrace a new chapter in her life.
The couple frequently dominated headlines during the summer as speculation about their marriage grew. Eventually, two years after they married, Lopez filed for divorce in August.
This decision came after the pair, who had previously called off their engagement in 2004, reconnected in May 2021 and subsequently married in July 2022, with Affleck expressing that “Jennifer was the one that got away”.
Lopez is moving forward
With the divorce settled, it seems Lopez is taking cues from Mariah Carey and is now on the lookout for younger men for casual flings.
“She’s opened the door for attractive guys to come into her life,” a source revealed to In Touch. “She was loyal to Ben even after their separation, but now she’s ready for something different.
“She’s eager to put Ben behind her and enjoy herself with young suitors, which she believes will help her heal from the emotional turmoil.”
Recently, Lopez shared with Nikki Glaser for Interview magazine that life post-divorce “feels lonely, unfamiliar, and scary” and described her emotions as “sad” and “desperate.”
“Yet, when I confront those feelings and remind myself, ‘These won’t last forever,’ I realize I can find joy and happiness on my own. My happiness shouldn’t depend on others,” she stated.
Despite having numerous admirers, sources indicate that Lopez is currently not interested in serious relationships.
“She wants a confidence boost, and dating attractive guys helps her feel youthful and desirable again,” the insider explained.
“She’s in great shape and attracts attention easily, so it’s not a challenge for her to meet appealing men. They will be carefully vetted and required to sign NDAs before any dates, but afterward, it’s all fun.”
“While she isn’t looking for anything serious right now, she does want to enjoy herself, and who knows? Maybe a casual relationship could evolve into something more. Her primary goal is to reestablish her sense of sexiness and completely move past Ben.”
