Ben Affleck has left a negative impression on Jennifer Lopez‘s friends amidst the couple’s marital issues, with divorce looming on the horizon.
Bennifer have been living separately for months now, even though they are still legally married. The actor known for his role as Batman has moved into a new $20 million mansion while Lopez has been spending more time on the East Coast of the United States.
Affleck, notorious for his reserved demeanor with the media and in private, has failed to win over Lopez‘s inner circle.
Affleck remains somewhat reclusive, despite his fame in Hollywood, and despite being acknowledged as a good father by Lopez, her friends have expressed a much harsher opinion of the 51-year-old.
“No one, except [Lopez’s] mother, likes Ben Affleck,” as per another source cited on PageSix.com. “He’s not well-liked.”
One of her managers, Benny Medina, has always harbored negative feelings towards Affleck and has cautioned Lopez accordingly, but she did not heed his advice.
“The two of them can’t stand each other. They don’t see eye to eye and there’s still animosity,” noted a source on PageSix.com, stating that he disapproved of their marriage. “His attitude was, ‘I’m not going to say anything.’ “
“There was neither a ‘Congratulations’ nor any negativity. He understood her and knew she would marry him regardless, so what was the point?”
Lopez upset about impending divorce
Reports suggest that the necessary paperwork for divorce has been prepared and is awaiting filing, indicating an imminent breakup. In reality, the split has already occurred, even if not yet official.
Affleck is moving his belongings out of their shared residence and into two new properties while Lopez plans to sell their once-dubbed “dream” home, signifying their separate lives.
This situation has greatly upset the On The Floor singer, leading to frustration as she believed she had found the man she loved 20 years ago, only to find herself in this current predicament at 55.
“She’s furious. He has embarrassed her,” mentioned another source on PageSix.com. “He was the one who suggested getting back together.”
Another insider added, “This was definitely not what she expected. She would have been enraged if someone had told her they would split up in less than two years.”
