The Medellin-born artist dives into her musical roots, drawing inspiration from genres such as vallenato, cumbia, merengue, bachata, and Brazilian funk, showcasing her growth as a versatile performer and a leading name in music.
Karol described “Tropicoqueta” as the album of her dreams, a project that began as an aspiration in late 2023. She also mentioned that the song list narrates her life journey, filled with “intense chapters, unexpected turns, and nostalgic characters.” “Each track tells its own tale,” she remarked.

During the performance, the Colombian star captivated the audience with her lyrics set to an upbeat merengue rhythm, as she attempts to charm an American suitor.
Discussing a lively Latin celebration known as “La Hora Loca (The Crazy Hour),” Karol G shared with Fallon that all attendees at a festivity should join in on dancing, guided by a DJ who instructs them on the moves. “I can show you how,” Karol offered, and Jimmy eagerly obliged.
The Colombian artist instructed Fallon to extend his right hand, place his left hand on his waist, and then gently sway his hips to the beat. Though Jimmy attempted to follow Karol’s choreography, he struggled to add flair and nearly “injured” his hips, showcasing that while he has many skills, dancing to Latin rhythms isn’t one of them.
