Justin Timberlake has sparked discussions online after a video emerged of him having a tense interaction with fans.
The viral clip records the 43-year-old artist responding to a group of fans in a car who dared him to race as they were both at a stoplight.
The incident involving Justin Timberlake
When their cars stop at a traffic light, Timberlake lowers his window and asks, “You want something?”
The fans then shout, “Let’s race, let’s race,” to which Timberlake responds with, “You want something? You want something?” and ends the exchange by saying, “Get out of here, you f*****g kids.”
This clip, titled “Why is Justin Timberlake so mean omfg,” has led to mixed reactions online.
While some individuals supported Timberlake’s reaction, others criticized his demeanor.
One user remarked, “Honestly, it seems like they just provoked him while he was doing his own thing. I don’t think he was necessarily mean-maybe just irritated.”
Another person expressed, “If I were famous, I’d always acknowledge my fans. They seemed thrilled to see him, but that’s just me.”
Conversely, some of Timberlake’s defenders suggested the fans overstepped their boundaries.
“Never thought I’d defend Justin Timberlake, but these people were harassing him. His response wasn’t mean at all-just suitable,” shared one social media user.
Others disagreed, stating, “They might’ve been slightly annoying, but it felt like a mean response to me.”
This is not the first occasion Timberlake has faced public backlash.
In September 2024, he admitted guilt to a charge of driving while impaired after an arrest in Sag Harbor, New York in June.
Reflecting on that incident, Timberlake remarked, “I try to hold myself to a very high standard, for myself, and this was not that.”
He took this chance to speak out against drunk driving, encouraging better choices.
Despite the negative attention, Timberlake continues to engage in his music and community initiatives.
Just before this video surfaced, he was seen joining a bike ride with kids and families in Portland, Oregon, during his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
