Despite not being on stage during the LA Fireaid benefit concert, the former Vice President Kamala Harris garnered significant attention.
The 2024 Presidential candidate for the Democrats, accompanied by her husband Doug Emhoff, made a grand entrance to the Intuit Dome VIP area, eliciting loud cheers and applause from the audience as a host of top musicians gathered to raise funds for the LA wildfires.
This marked the second public appearance of Kamala and Doug in just over a week, as they participated in a food delivery initiative for families impacted by wildfires through World Central Kitchen (WCK).
Kamala’s Deep Roots in California
Having spent most of her life in California, with only a brief stay in Quebec during her school years, Kamala pursued her studies at the University of California, Hastings College of Law. She served as the district attorney of San Francisco and then as the California attorney general before moving on to the U.S. Senate in 2017.
In 2012, prior to their engagement, Doug Emhoff purchased their 3,500-square-foot home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, for $2.7 million, an area that is also home to LeBron James.
The couple’s residence was not directly impacted by the LA wildfires, although their home, valued at $4.7 million, faced threat during the 2019 Getty Fire that scorched 745 acres in the vicinity.
Highlighting LA Fireaid
As mentioned, Kamala’s presence was secondary to the performances at LA Fireaid. Renowned artists such as Billie Eilish, Pink, Katy Perry, Nirvana, and Dr. Dre took to the stage for a benefit concert aimed at aiding recovery efforts from two of the largest fires recorded in the region.
In total, 20 artists from various genres performed at the event, which spanned five hours across two major venues, Intuit Dome and KIA Forum, successfully raising funds for wildfire relief. Other notable performers included No Doubt, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Peso Pluma, Rod Stewart, Sting, Alanis Morissette, Anderson .Paak, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This event was brought to you by Shelli, Irving, and the Azoff family, in partnership with Live Nation and the LA Clippers.
