Kim Kardashian is now raising her four children primarily on her own as Kanye West, their father, becomes more absorbed in his career and his ongoing rumored separation from Biana Censori.
Kardashian and West started their relationship in 2012, welcoming four children: North (2013), Saint (2015), Chicago (2018), and Psalm (2019), with the last two born via surrogacy.
However, their relationship did not endure; in January 2021, Kardashian filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences,” and they agreed to joint custody, with the divorce finalized by November 2022. Kanye is obligated to pay $200,000 monthly in child support along with half of other expenses.
The couple has been unable to resolve their differences, leading the 44-year-old mother to feel increasingly anxious about her children’s safety during visits with their father, given his unpredictable behavior and controversial views.
Recently, Kardashian’s concerns have seemingly eased, albeit not in an ideal manner, as PEOPLE reports that the 47-year-old father is seldom present, leaving her to manage most of the parenting duties alone.
“Kanye unfortunately isn’t around much,” a source disclosed. “Kim is basically managing as a single parent. She has some help, but it still demands a lot of effort to juggle everything.”
“Kardashian’s life revolves around her kids’ routines. She works while they are in school, and when they are home, her focus is entirely on them. She’s not even dating at the moment; her priority is her work and her children.”
Custody Arrangements for Kardashian’s Kids
According to their divorce agreement, which includes West’s annual support payment of $2.4 million from his $400 million wealth, they will participate in mediation to resolve any parenting disputes.
Kardashian is granted custody for 80% of the time, equating to approximately 5.5 days a week and totaling around 292 days annually with their mother compared to just 73 days spent with their father.
