A group of teenagers is taking legal action against Kanye West and Yeezy, claiming a hostile work atmosphere and seeking over $1 million in damages. Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that the lawsuit is filed by four minors aged 14 to 17, along with adult plaintiffs Shemar Dacosta, Pholoso Mofokeng, Miles Jackson-Lea, and Olakunle Olatunji. They aim for a default judgment against Yeezy LLC, asserting they were tasked with developing a streaming app to promote Ye’s album Vulture 2 and experienced disturbing events.
The plaintiffs allege they faced bullying related to their sexual orientation and ethnicity. They also accuse Kanye West’s wife, Bianca Censori, of distributing explicit content among the team during the planning of an adult film studio.
The lawsuit claims that “No safeguards were established to protect the underage YZYVSN staff from involvement in Yeezy Porn or to shield them from exposure to explicit content required for their work.” Additionally, it mentions that some employees were referred to as “slaves” in the workplace.
The plaintiffs seek compensation for emotional distress, anxiety, humiliation, and depression. Milo Yiannopoulos, who was Ye’s former chief of staff and is named in the lawsuit, has publicly denied the allegations. He stated on behalf of Bianca Censori that the claims are “offensive, disgusting, revolting, and completely false.” He characterized one plaintiff as a “tragic, desperate attention-seeker” and denied any exposure to explicit materials.
Minors exposed to inappropriate content during employment
The lawsuit also includes demands for unpaid wages. The attorney for the plaintiffs has requested $2,491,984 in damages to cover unpaid salaries, emotional damages, and punitive damages. The legal claim emphasizes that punitive damages are necessary “to penalize the Defendants for their intentional and malicious behavior and to discourage similar misconduct in the future.”
Additionally, Kanye West is facing another lawsuit from his former assistant Lauren Pisciotta, who has accused him of sexual harassment. Hired in 2021, Pisciotta has had difficulty serving him legal documents. To date, neither Kanye nor his legal team have responded to these allegations. The judge has yet to rule on the case involving the teenagers and former employees.
