The signs that the initial spark between Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos might be fading surfaced during the Breakthrough Prize event in April. For this occasion, Sanchez donned a vintage 1994 John Galliano gown once worn by Sophia Loren, showcasing it on her Instagram account. The form-fitting dress featured thin straps and a daring neckline, as is typical of Sanchez’s style. While fashion blog Fashion Bomb Daily shared photos of the couple, onlookers couldn’t help but notice an odd energy between the two. Though Sanchez held onto Bezos’s arm, the distance between them spanned a significant two feet. “Their body language is off,” pointed out one Instagram user observed. Some followers questioned the strength of their bond, with one commenting, “The classic socialite. She’s had multiple facelifts and partners. [whine emoji] Jeff has wealth but lacks wisdom,” another user added.
Shortly after their chilly display, Sanchez made a light-hearted remark about her relationship as she prepared for her space journey with Blue Origin. Post-flight, Sky News‘ Charissa Thompson recounted how Sanchez jokingly suggested that Bezos might prefer sending his next bride to space rather than marrying her. “You don’t need to send me to space!” Sanchez chuckled back to Thompson. The irony lies in the fact that the state of their relationship could be more serious than a simple joke.
