Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, known for advocating climate awareness, recently flew to Mexico on a private jet to escape the devastating fires in Los Angeles, which led to accusations of being a “hypocrite.”

Leonardo DiCaprio, aged 50, and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, age 26, were seen arriving in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on January 10, having made the trip with his father, George DiCaprio, and his wife Peggy Ann Farrar.

The Titanic star and his younger partner left during the Southern California wildfires that forced evacuations of numerous residents after a fire ignited on January 7 in the upscale Pacific Palisades area.

The fire quickly escalated due to intense Santa Ana winds and dry conditions, leading to reports by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection that over 12,000 buildings and around 41,000 acres have been consumed by the flames by January 13.

It is estimated that 24 fatalities have occurred, and this count may increase as rescue crews continue their search through the debris.

DiCaprio’s peers, including Paris Hilton, Miles Teller, Adam Brody, and Leighton Meester, faced the reality of losing their homes, while the Wolf of Wall Street actor was mocked online for his choice of escape route.

Criticism mounts on social media, labeling DiCaprio a ‘hypocrite’

Despite DiCaprio’s commitment of over $80 million for sustainability and climate change initiatives, detractors have labeled him a “scammer.”

A third user concurred: “The so-called ‘climate warriors’ care little for the genuine climate crisis. They are all impostors…”
