After facing some difficulties earlier this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are changing their public strategy. Instead of pursuing separate projects, they are now concentrating on appearing together to enhance their image and brand.
Their first joint appearance with this new strategy will be at the Invictus Games opening ceremony in Vancouver on February 8, 2025.
This strategic shift follows a wave of negative coverage, including a critical piece in Vanity Fair that examined their personal and professional lives.
Now, with PR agency Three Gate Strategies managing their communications, Harry and Meghan are focused on reclaiming their story and presenting a united image.
Reinforcing their brand
By late 2024, Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been focusing on different projects. Meghan was busy with her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, and her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
On the other hand, Harry was dedicated to his charities, particularly organizing the Invictus Games, which he founded for veterans.
Initially, it appeared their separate pursuits indicated a rift, but insiders insist the opposite is true.
“There will be renewed emphasis on the Sussexes as a couple and a brand,” shared a source with Express.
This move is part of a larger rebranding plan led by Ashley Hansen, their communications director who is now managing their PR efforts with Three Gate Strategies.
Hansen aims to refocus public attention on them as a couple, especially after a period dominated by individual headlines.
Despite initial optimism for 2025, challenges arose quickly. Meghan’s Netflix premiere was delayed due to the catastrophic Los Angeles wildfires, while their charitable activities faced backlash, with some labeling them “disaster tourists.”
