A Hollywood insider has expressed concern that Meghan Markle‘s upcoming film could be a final attempt for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the entertainment field, following several unsuccessful projects.

Set to premiere on January 15, the documentary titled With Love, Meghan, will consist of eight episodes on Netflix, showcasing her life in Montecito and sharing her perspectives on various societal issues.

Before even airing, critics including Eater have lambasted the documentary, accusing Markle of attempting to appear relatable while being fundamentally disconnected from reality and expressing boredom with the content.

The Independent noted that they anticipated a more engaging persona from the ex-actress instead of devolving into a “traditional wife.”

Experts caution that attempts to project an accessible image may not resonate with viewers, who are increasingly discerning about authenticity in celebrities and brands.

“Audiences are perceptive,” stated Hollywood PR specialist Cassie Zebisch-Schienle in a comment to The New York Post. “When someone lacks authenticity, it becomes apparent immediately. That’s a crucial element that seems to be absent.”

“Their decisions appear inconsistent and lack a sense of genuineness. They have made numerous changes, trying different approaches without success because they come across as untrustworthy.”
