Prince Harry attended Kevin Costner‘s charity event solo after Meghan Markle had to withdraw due to illness.
The Duke of Sussex was there to pay tribute to first responders, especially recognizing a helicopter pilot from Santa Barbara. Costner organized the event known as ‘One805Live!’
Jeff Bridges, Rob Lowe, and Pink also attended, while Harry is a familiar face at the event, having participated last year with Meghan.
Regrettably, Markle was unable to join this time, with The Mirror stating that “the word is that she is sick and could not make it.”
Nonetheless, Meghan is expected to attend a New York event this weekend, potentially the Diana Awards, which are connected to the Halo Trust and reminiscent of the late Diana’s involvement.
During the event, Harry donned a navy suit with a white shirt and honored helicopter pilot Loren Courtney, arriving around 7pm.
As a former Apache pilot, Harry humorously mentioned that he and Loren both felt ‘more at home’ when flying helicopters.
Future Plans for Harry
Prince Harry is scheduled to return to the UK later this month, rumored to attend the WellChild Awards as one of its longstanding patrons for 16 years.
It remains uncertain if Meghan will accompany him, as she reportedly has expressed the intention to avoid the UK entirely. Recently, the couple arrived in the UK after their trip to Nigeria; however, reports indicate that Markle did not exit the airport during their short stop.
