Gina-Maria Schumacher, the daughter of the famed Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, has expressed her feelings following news of her father’s rare public appearance at her wedding—the first in over ten years. Michael has largely remained out of sight after a significant skiing accident in 2013 that resulted in a prolonged coma.
Despite the family’s decision to keep his health status private, reports suggest that he attended Gina-Maria‘s wedding in Majorca, marking a significant moment as it was his first public outing since the accident.
27-year-old Gina-Maria shared a post on Instagram shortly after the wedding, featuring a picture with her partner, Iain Bethke. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony held at the Schumacher family’s villa in Majorca, surrounded by a select group of guests, respecting their desire for confidentiality.
The picturesque villa, where the wedding was held, was acquired by Gina-Maria in 2017 for approximately £27 million from Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.
Strict Wedding Guidelines
The wedding ceremony was succinct, lasting approximately 30 minutes, with Gina-Maria and Iain exchanging vows around 16:00. In an effort to shield Schumacher from media attention, guests were required to adhere to strict protocols, which included leaving their devices outside to prevent any photos or videos of the F1 legend from being taken.
Gina-Maria and Iain are both passionate about horses and originally met at a stable, intertwining their lives through this shared interest.
Schumacher‘s daughter has excelled as a horse owner and rider, sharing this passion with her mother, Corinna Betsch.
