The unexpected death of Liam Payne, a former One Direction star, has sent shockwaves around the globe. This 31-year-old artist passed away on October 16 after plummeting from the third floor of a Buenos Aires hotel, where he was on holiday with his partner, Kate Cassidy.
Events Prior to the Tragic Fall
A preliminary autopsy indicated that Liam suffered from “multiple traumas” due to the nearly 40-foot fall. Disturbingly, it appears he might not have been completely conscious at the time of the incident. A CNN report stated that due to the position in which his body was found, it is believed that he did not take any protective measures and may have fallen while partially or wholly unconscious.
Officials are investigating Liam’s possible consumption of a drug known as ‘Cristal‘, infamous for its severe psychological impacts, including hallucinations. Sources informed TMZ that this powerful drug can create dramatic mood swings, which raises important questions about what occurred just before his fall.
Inside his hotel room, the scene was reportedly disorderly. There were claims of a broken television, signs of substance use, and white powder residues that are currently undergoing analysis for potential cocaine.
