Eighteen years ago, Madeleine McCann, a three-year-old British girl, vanished from her family’s apartment in the Algarve, Portugal, while sleeping with her siblings. Recently, it has come to light that an 80 GB hard drive indicating that the child is deceased has been discovered.
This hard drive was uncovered in a rundown factory purchased by Christian Brueckner, the main suspect in Madeleine’s case. German authorities believe that Brueckner murdered the young girl after she went missing during a family vacation in Praia da Luz in 2007.
Discovery of the hard drive and documents in 2016
The hard drive was located in 2016, but a recent Channel 4 documentary has brought attention to its findings for the first time, revealing that the hard drive and another laptop discovered at the site contain evidence that convinced German authorities that Madeleine likely died shortly after her disappearance.
A source informed The Sun that “There is considerable interest in Germany regarding the British authorities revisiting their investigation. They are keen to prevent Brueckner from evading justice.”
During the examination of the abandoned location, an insurance document was also discovered, suggesting the suspect attended a music festival where he allegedly claimed responsibility for Madeleine’s death. Additionally, authorities retrieved disturbing images involving young girls, as well as 75 swimsuits, toys, and small bicycles from the site.
