Paige Spiranac recently dispelled a long-standing rumor regarding a supposed “promise” related to Rickie Fowler. In a Q&A session held on her Instagram Story on January 24, the 31-year-old social media influencer responded to a common inquiry regarding a fabricated tweet attributed to her.
This persistent rumor, which resurfaces each year, incorrectly suggests that Spiranac pledged to go topless if Fowler clinched a major championship. She clarified that this viral tweet was created by someone impersonating her.
“This has been around for about four or five years,” Spiranac noted. “Someone made a fake tweet claiming, ‘I will show the girls if Rickie Fowler wins a major.’ Each year, this fake tweet resurfaces, and I’m constantly asked if it’s real. It’s not. The girls are real, but the tweet is entirely fake.”
“It feels like it will never go away. Just when I think it might die down, it comes back. It’s crazy.”
Diving into her Q&A, Spiranac also highlighted a passionate cause of hers—encouraging youngsters to engage in various sports instead of focusing solely on one.
“I strongly believe in letting children explore different sports. It’s essential for their growth,” she stated. “I’ve observed many kids devote themselves to one sport too early, leading to burnout and other unpleasant consequences. So, let your child experience a variety of activities.”
