Prosecutors allege that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is attempting to sway potential jurors in his upcoming federal criminal case.
These allegations arise following the rapper’s recent 55th birthday celebration, with accusations suggesting that Diddy is involving his family to alter public perceptions of him.
A key focus in the allegations points to a recent video shared by Diddy’s children, which prosecutors contend was posted under his guidance.
The court documents indicate, “At the defendant’s carefully curated direction, the defendant’s children posted a video to their respective social media accounts showing the defendant’s children gathered to celebrate the defendant’s birthday.”
Prosecutors assert that this behavior aims to tamper with the jury’s impartiality, stating, “The defendant’s own words make clear that his intent is to improperly influence the jury pool in this criminal proceeding.”
Additional Allegations Against Diddy
Furthermore, prosecutors claim that Diddy has violated communication regulations while incarcerated.
The prosecution alleges that while incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, he misused the phone accounts belonging to “at least eight other inmates” to avoid detection by prosecutors during calls with people outside his approved contacts.
Additionally, they argue that Combs compensated other inmates to gain access to their phone accounts using payment methods and deposits assigned for commissaries.
It is further claimed that he directed individuals on the calls—such as family and legal representatives—to introduce unauthorized participants through three-way calling.
According to court documents, “This practice is also not authorized by BOP [Federal Bureau of Prisons] as it helps conceal the identities of the contacted individuals.”
Prosecutors suggest that Diddy‘s ongoing neglect of BOP protocols, which began shortly after his arrival at MDC, raises concerns about his suitability for release.
