As the first anniversary of Matthew Perry’s passing approaches, certain details surrounding his death remain unclear.
The renowned actor was discovered deceased in his Los Angeles residence, specifically in the hot tub. Initially deemed unnecessary, toxicological tests revealed the presence of drugs in his system during the autopsy.
On August 15, 2024, five individuals were charged in connection with Perry’s demise for administering ketamine, including his personal assistant and two doctors.
“They were aware that their actions placed Matthew Perry in significant peril, yet proceeded regardless,” stated U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada during a press briefing.
The Final Words of Matthew Perry before His Passing
Among the accused, Kenneth Iwamasa, received Matthew Perry’s final plea preceding his demise in the hot tub at his residence.
Reportedly, Perry requested his assistant to “inject him with a strong one,” indicating another ketamine dose shortly before his untimely death.
According to Iwamasa, Perry would ask for three ketamine injections daily, exhibiting a peak dependence on ketamine.
Legal documents reveal that Perry requested a dose around 8:30 a.m., sought another four hours later while watching a movie, and one final dose while preparing the hot tub.
Iwamasa left the premises to attend to errands, and upon his return, Perry had already passed away.
The prosecution highlighted that Perry used ketamine under prescription, with the last authorized dose administered two weeks before his demise.
