Serena Williams Jokes About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the ESPY AWARDS

Serena Williams pokes fun at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the ESPY AWARDS

Last night, Serena Williams hosted the ESPY AWARDS at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. She confidently targeted celebrities including Drake, Broony James, Prince Harry, Jaylen Brown, and notably, Taylor Swift and her partner Travis Kelce.

The tennis icon playfully teased the Kansas City Chief’s player, acknowledging his absence by saying, “Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs. This year, Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend won a Super Bowl”.

She humorously mentioned the recent reports about the lavish spending of the couple: “Travis and Taylor supposedly splurge $100,000 a day on their relationship. That’s quite a sum, apparently what Jaylen Brown invests in his beard.” Despite poking fun at the Boston Celtics guard, she added, “It’s really glossy. I actually like it” with a chuckle.

Swift and Kelce have had an eventful summer. The singer has been touring Europe, with an upcoming concert in Milan, Italy, as part of her Eras Tour. Kelce has been enjoying himself, as seen participating in a karaoke contest at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He wowed the crowd with his rendition of “Here I Go Again” by Whitesnake, dedicating his win to Swift, shouting, “Taylor, this one’s for you!

A Variety of Jokes

Returning to the awards presentation, Williams didn’t miss the chance to jest about other athletes, like LeBron James. Commenting on LeBron’s son Bronny’s debut for the Los Angeles Lakers, she quipped, “Another notable sports moment this year was LeBron James’ son Bronny making his Lakers debut. “I genuinely hope that Bronny has a lengthy career, long enough for us to witness his hairline recede and then magically un-recede like his father’s,” she playfully said.

She also found time to reference the diss-track Kendrick Lamar directed at Drake: “If there’s one lesson I’ve learned this year, it’s that none of us, not one, not even me, should ever challenge Kendrick Lamar, he’ll make your hometown turn against you.”

Williams delivered a remarkable performance, entertaining everyone present at the event. Her engaging personality and charisma made the 180-minute show feel like half the time, leaving the audience thoroughly amused.
