Simone Biles, a celebrated athlete known for her incredible achievements, is taking on a new and surprising position as a guest mentor on NBC’s The Voice.
Biles Teams Up with Snoop Dogg
In a collaboration with Snoop Dogg for the playoff rounds, Biles aims to share her winning mentality with the contestants. However, this announcement has sparked mixed reactions among fans.
In a recent interview, Biles shared her enthusiasm for the new role.
“We bounced ideas off each other to provide the best guidance for the artists heading into the next phase,” she noted regarding her partnership with Snoop Dogg.
The gymnast from Spring, Texas clarified that her focus is more on boosting contestants’ confidence and enhancing their stage presence rather than vocal instruction.
“It felt straightforward and uncomplicated,” Biles mentioned about the collaboration.
“We both have a calm vibe, but we can definitely elevate the energy when needed. Our main goal is to build confidence for the coming week.”
She emphasized that she approached this role with diligence, stating, “It’s all about learning, processing, then going back to work.”
Snoop Dogg added that their experiences enable them to understand the struggles the contestants encounter.
“Our careers are quite different, but we have faced similar challenges that these contestants are experiencing,” he remarked.
Although their partnership received praise for its emphasis on performance and mental preparedness, not all viewers were convinced.
“I admire her, but this has me puzzled?” questioned one fan on social media after the announcement.
Others humorously commented on the unusual pairing, with one stating, “Snoop must have had a moment and lost track of what show he was on.”
Conversely, many supported Biles’ inclusion, arguing her expertise is valuable.
“People fail to see that Simone can offer excellent advice on performance and stage presence,” former contestant Noivas Wright explained.
Another fan highlighted, “These contestants already have great singing abilities; they simply need guidance on confidence and performance, which is her forte.”
Viewers can see the collaboration of Simone Biles and Snoop Dogg in action on Monday, Nov. 25, during the episode airing on NBC.
