Skai Jackson, a former Disney Channel celebrity, was arrested recently on charges of domestic violence post a dispute with her partner. The incident occurred on August 9 at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood, California, and was verified by Page Six.
The incident at Universal CityWalk leads to legal implications
Jackson, recognized for her role in “Jessie,” allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with her boyfriend. Security personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department witnessed the argument and intervened when Jackson supposedly pushed her boyfriend repeatedly.
After the security guards held the pair until law enforcement arrived, the authorities reviewed the video evidence and determined that Jackson had pushed her boyfriend two times. Consequently, she was arrested for minor domestic battery, issued a citation, and released a few hours later.
The matter is currently being reviewed by the LA County District Attorney’s Office to decide on potential further charges against Jackson. Despite the visual proof, both Jackson and her boyfriend have refuted any physical altercation, asserting their engagement and upcoming parenthood.
The initial report of Jackson’s arrest was unveiled by TMZ. The actress, who rose to fame in 2016 as a meme, has mainly kept her personal life, including information about her partner, confidential.
Skai Jackson isn’t the sole Disney Channel figure to confront legal issues. Orlando Brown from “That’s So Raven” has encountered multiple arrests related to thefts, domestic abuse, and narcotics. Similarly, Mitchel Musso, known for “Hannah Montana,” was apprehended last year for public drunkenness.
