Tameer Peak Sues Nicki Minaj for Emotional Damages

Nicki Minaj is in legal trouble: A former fan is suing her for a stratospheric amount for emotional damages

The rapper, Nicki Minaj, is facing legal action as a former fan, Tameer Peak, is suing her for $5 million, alleging that she caused emotional distress, damaged his reputation, and resulted in significant financial loss. The lawsuit follows a fallout between Minaj and Peak, a once loyal member of her fanbase known as “Barbs.”

Peak claims the rift began during the 2017 “Nicki Hate Train,” where Minaj accused some fans of undermining her career. The lawsuit highlights an incident where Minaj publicly scolded Peak during an Instagram Live session, witnessed by over 100,000 viewers, which marked the start of his grievances.

Peak further alleges that during the 2020 Super Bowl weekend, Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, physically assaulted him. These events, along with Minaj’s purported social media and broadcast ridicule of him, turned her fanbase against Peak, causing him emotional and financial distress.

Details of the Lawsuit against Minaj

According to TMZ, Peak filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing Minaj of slander. He claims that Minaj’s statements, including remarks questioning his mental state and implying he is on welfare, have caused harm.

While Minaj has not directly addressed the lawsuit, her attorney, Judd Burstein, spoke out against Peak‘s claims, alleging that Peak has been harassing Minaj on social media for years.

“He is now attempting to extort money from her with baseless allegations,” Burstein stated. He warned that Peak might face legal consequences, including paying Minaj’s legal fees as per California law.

The lawsuit has unsettled Minaj’s fanbase, sparking curiosity about the legal proceedings and their potential outcomes.
