Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are looking to expand their family by adding a new pet. Recently, an insider revealed to Life & Style that the couple’s current cats have taken a liking to Travis. This positive bonding has prompted them to consider adopting another kitten.
Initially, it took Travis Kelce some time to get comfortable with their feline lifestyle.
As the insider noted, “It took some time, but now the cats adore Travis, and he feels the same about them.” They further mentioned that Travis is now a devoted cat dad and he and Taylor are thrilled at the prospect of raising a new kitten together.
The couple plans to adopt a rescue kitten, highlighting their commitment to animal rescue.
“They are excited about giving a cat a loving home and understand there are many that need help,” the source mentioned.
Taylor and Travis enjoy pampering their current cats, regularly cuddling with them, while Travis takes the initiative to create scratching posts and purchase new toys frequently. He is also intending to build a cat patio so their pets can safely experience the outdoors.
Taylor’s Love for Cats
Taylor, aged 35, has always had a strong affection for her pets, having adopted her first cat, Meredith Grey, back in 2011. Named after the Grey’s Anatomy character, Meredith is known for being somewhat reserved. In 2021, Taylor assured her fans that the Scottish Fold was well, stating, “The truth is, Meredith just dislikes having her picture taken.”
In 2014, she added another Scottish Fold to her family, Olivia Benson, inspired by the character from Law & Order: SVU. Unlike her sister, Olivia is quite outgoing and has made many public appearances, including a recent Instagram post before Taylor’s concert in Miami on October 18, where Taylor remarked, “Back in the office…”
In an unexpected turn of events, Taylor Swift adopted a Ragdoll kitten named Benjamin Button after falling for him during the filming of her “ME!” music video in 2019.
She described her instant connection saying, “He just seemed to think I was his mom, and I couldn’t resist that charm.”
Since they began dating in August 2023, Taylor and Travis Kelce have seamlessly blended their lives, including their love for pets. Travis’s friends joke about his affection for her cats, which he enthusiastically embraces.
