Taylor Swift attributes her love for the holiday season to her upbringing on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. The 35-year-old singer reminisced about her unique childhood experiences and how they fostered her excitement for both fall and Christmas, sometimes to the point of overwhelming her friends.
The Anti-Hero singer shared that her childhood was unusual, but it gave her an extraordinary enthusiasm for autumn and winter festivities, often teasingly described by her friends as elf-like.
“Growing up there was so peculiar, but it really instilled in me this excitement for fall and the holidays,” Swift remarked in a 2014 interview with Esquire. “My friends are fed up with my constant chatter about the approaching autumn. They joke, ‘What’s up with you, are you an elf?'”

In her youth, she took on tasks like removing praying-mantis pods from the trees to prevent infestations in customers’ homes.
Her fondness for Christmas continued as she released “Christmas Tree Farm” in 2019, a song reflecting themes of warmth, love, and rejuvenation associated with the holiday season, similar to the feelings experienced when falling in love.
What was Swift’s Christmas Tree Farm?
Swift spent her early years on the farm, purchased by her father, a stockbroker, as a hobby, which became a significant part of their family life.
Taylor had the responsibility of clearing praying-mantis pods from the trees to avoid future issues for customers. Although her family worked on tasks related to the trees, she was too young, at around 10, to assist with those duties.
