Taylor Swift finds herself in a complicated situation regarding her friendship with Blake Lively.
Recently, Swift expressed feelings of being caught off guard after Lively mentioned her indirectly in a legal dispute involving Lively’s “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
As highlighted by a source to Page Six, the conflict arises from a countersuit by Baldoni, where text messages from Lively surfaced.
In one of her texts, Lively appeared to liken herself to Khaleesi from “Game of Thrones,” implying she has a circle of loyal “dragons” for support.
Lively purportedly wrote, “If you ever watch ‘Game of Thrones,’ you’ll see I’m Khaleesi, and I have a few dragons backing me up.”
She emphasized that these “dragons” protect her interests and benefit those she stands for, although she didn’t specify who they were, causing speculation that she referred to her husband Ryan Reynolds and Swift.
Baldoni acknowledged Lively’s sentiments, stating how much he appreciated her support, regardless of whether Reynolds and Swift were involved.
According to the insider, Swift is displeased with being entangled in this legal matter, given that she had no part in the conflict between Lively and Baldoni.
The source mentioned, “Taylor wishes Blake hadn’t included her in this. She feels uncomfortable being labeled as one of Blake’s dragons.”
Swift’s Response to “It Ends With Us”
Swift and Lively have maintained a close friendship since 2015, typically supporting each other’s endeavors. However, fans have noted that Swift has been unusually quiet about promoting Lively‘s recent film, “It Ends With Us.”
Unlike her vocal endorsement of Zoe Kravitz‘s film “Blink Twice,” Swift did not publicly support Lively‘s project, which debuted in August 2024.
Given the movie’s themes about abusive relationships, fans found it peculiar that she did not encourage her followers to check it out, especially as Swift often advocates for women’s empowerment.
A source noted, “Taylor treasures true friendships but feels somewhat taken advantage of. She aims to distance herself from the unfolding drama.”
