Taylor Swift’s popularity seems limitless right now, but her public support for Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election appears less influential.
The singer was anticipated to endorse Harris and the Democratic Party, but she only made her statement following the latest televised debate, where Harris took over the reins from Joe Biden earlier in the election cycle.
However, it seems that Swift’s public endorsement hasn’t made the significant impact she might have expected, serving as a possible wake-up call.
According to a recent YouGov poll conducted after the debate, only 8% of voters indicated that Swift’s endorsement made them more likely to vote for the Democrats.
In stark contrast, a larger 20% stated they are now “somewhat” or “much less likely” to support her endorsement’s target, former President Donald Trump.
A significant majority, 66%, revealed that Swift’s endorsement would not influence their voting decisions for November’s election.
Independent research encouraged by Swift
In an Instagram post shared with her 283 million followers soon after the debate, Swift stated, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice.”
She added, “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
Her endorsement was received positively, especially from individuals connected to Travis Kelce, including family and coaches.
