For Kardashian enthusiasts, here’s a fun fact: Bush married Lilit Avagyan, an Armenian dancer who closely resembles Kim. They are parents to three children: Briseis, Uriah, and Agyeman. Interestingly, fans have drawn parallels between the appearances of Bush’s children and those of Kim and Kanye’s kids, especially Briseis and North, as well as Agyeman and Psalm. Nevertheless, Reggie has mentioned in interviews that he and Kim do not maintain any contact.
Reggie Bush’s Retirement from the NFL
Since his days with Kim Kardashian, Reggie Bush has also departed from playing in the NFL, announcing his retirement in 2017.
Back in March 2017, Bush expressed a desire to continue his career, stating, “I still have a lot to prove”. However, his stance changed by September of that same year, when he indicated he’d retire if he wasn’t picked up by a team. In December, after not being signed, he confirmed his retirement on “NFL Total Access”, stating he wasn’t going to return to the game at the age of 33. Following his retirement, he explored interests in golf and launched a golf apparel line called The Reggie Bush Collection.
Reinstatement of Reggie Bush’s Heisman Trophy
In 2010, Reggie Bush infamously lost his Heisman Trophy due to receiving prohibited gifts while in college, ultimately surrendering it despite arguing he shouldn’t have had to. Much discussion arose around the fairness of the decision, with many pointing out that others, including his coach, should also have faced consequences.
However, in 2024, Bush’s Heisman Trophy was restored due to recent changes in guidelines allowing college athletes to receive compensation. Bush was overjoyed about the reinstatement, although the NCAA was less enthusiastic about the situation. In a podcast, he criticized the NCAA for labeling him a cheater and profiting from student-athletes without giving them shares. Though quiet for a time, it’s likely he will become more vocal moving forward regarding the issues he’s raised with the NCAA.
