Pretty much anything Morgan Freeman does or says is capable of making national news. Being one of the most notorious and successful actors in the world comes with the territory. However, recently, Freeman found himself in the news for something he wasn’t involved in.
A viral TikTok video from someone claiming to be his niece caused a stir on social media. In the video, the individual implies that Freeman is narrating her vlog. Nonetheless, it was quickly debunked and uncovered that the voiceover was generated using AI.

Much credit goes to Freeman’s fans who were prompt in their research and fact-checking. Nonetheless, it left many feeling uneasy. It’s one thing to use AI for a fake voiceover, but it’s another to falsely assert a familial relationship with the renowned narrator.
“Am I the only one who finds it incredibly strange to use an actor’s AI voice to create content claiming a blood relation and using the AI voice to narrate fabricated stories about your connection.”
That sentiment was echoed by many on social media. Freeman has not addressed the video, and hopefully, he never has to encounter it.
