Tina Knowles, the mother of Beyoncé, announced that her Instagram account was compromised after she appeared to have “liked” a post concerning the rape allegations against her son-in-law Jay-Z.
“I’ve been hacked!” Knowles expressed in a post on her social media platform on Monday.
“As everyone knows, I take my family very seriously. If you notice something unusual, just know it’s not me!” she emphasized, reaffirming her commitment to family.
The Incident Behind the Hack
The issue emerged when Knowles‘ Instagram mistakenly “liked” a news report from ABC 7 Chicago about Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs being involved in a lawsuit regarding the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl after the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000.
The lawsuit, which comes from an unnamed plaintiff, claims that the victim felt “lightheaded” after accepting a drink and went to a room to rest.
According to the complaint, the two celebrities entered the room, with allegations stating that Jay-Z undressed her, followed by Combs allegedly assaulting her. The victim also noted that an unidentified famous woman witnessed the occurrence.
Knowles Stands Up for Her Family
At 70 years old, Knowles quickly took to social media to defend herself and her family, emphasizing her role as their protector.
“Please stop messing with me!!!! ‘No weapon formed against my family will prosper,'” she quoted from the Bible in her post.
Jay-Z denied the accusations outright and later shared a strong response through Page Six.
“He thought I’d be inclined to settle due to the public accusations, but it had the reverse effect,” the artist shared, indicating that she felt compelled to reveal the truth publicly.
“This situation has strengthened my resolve to publicly call out his deceit,” she remarked.
Furthermore, she encouraged her accuser to pursue a criminal case instead of a civil one, emphasizing that “those who harm minors should face prison time.”
