As he embarks on hosting his debut reality game show, Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, he reflects on his past school experiences, showcasing a more relatable side to fans.
In a recent chat with People, Kelce shared that history has always been a tough subject for him. He recalled, “I just stay in there. But any history questions, I’m like, ‘I don’t know if anybody knows that,’ and sure enough, everybody does but me.”
Despite his academic struggles, Kelce is now stepping into the role of a game show host, featuring contestants competing against celebrities in a test of knowledge. As for whether he’s smarter than a celebrity himself? He’s still on that journey.

Kelce also talked about his brother, Jason, who excelled academically, contrasting his own experience. He noted, “He was an honors student. He tested well and all that. He decided to be in all advanced classes. I was like, ‘That’s too much homework for me.’ Travis believes Jason would shine on the show, saying, “I’ll be interested to hear him talk about it when he sees it.”
Taking on the hosting role for Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? is an exhilarating new venture for Kelce. He expressed, “I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first show. The original version was a great success, and now with celebrities joining in, it’s going to be even more entertaining.”

Kelce’s skills aren’t limited to sports. He has also ventured into acting, recently appearing in the horror series Grotesquerie. His fellow cast members have praised his surprising talent in acting.
Emmy-winning actor Courtney B. Vance remarked that Kelce was “wonderful” and well-prepared on set, while Niecy Nash, who portrays his on-screen spouse, found their collaboration to be “wonderful.”
