Viewers of the Kansas City Chiefs game on Netflix this Christmas got an extra treat: the initial trailer for Happy Gilmore 2.

Almost 30 years after Adam Sandler’s original film became a fan-favorite, the iconic character Happy Gilmore is making a much-anticipated comeback.

Travis Kelce Takes on Hollywood

The tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce, is set to make his acting debut in this eagerly awaited sequel, which is expected to hit theaters in 2025.

The teaser, released on Christmas Day, is filled with nostalgic elements.

Sandler returns as Happy Gilmore, sporting his classic hockey jersey and taking to the golf course as if he never left.

Fan-favorite characters from the first film, such as Julie Bowen (Virginia Venit) and Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin), are back, along with new faces like Grammy-winning musician Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, and comedian Nick Swardson.

Kelce makes a memorable entrance in the teaser, delivering the opening lines.

He plays a golf club employee who welcomes Sandler’s character with, “It’s good to have you back, Mr. Gilmore.”

Later, he shares a comedic moment with Sandler that teases his character’s role in the film.
