Ed Kelce, the father of NFL player Travis Kelce, expressed strong disapproval of Kanye West’s recent lyric in the song “Lifestyle” from the album “Vultures 2” that mentioned his son and Taylor Swift.
In a Facebook post, Ed shared his concerns about the song’s reference to the couple, criticizing it as a display of “mental illness” and highlighting West’s history of dealing with bipolar disorder.
The explicit mention was in Lil Wayne’s verse, where he referenced Travis Kelce while talking about twisting his Taylor spliffs tight at the end.
This lyric resurfaces the feud between West and Swift that began years ago with West referring to Swift in a controversial manner in his song “Famous.”
Taylor Swift’s Response
Although Taylor Swift has not directly reacted to Wayne’s lyrics, her fans, known as Swifties, believe that she subtly addressed it during a recent performance on her Poland Eras Tour by wearing a shirt with a possible reference to West.
Travis Kelce, on the other hand, has been focused on training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs and has not publicly commented on the lyric. In a previous podcast appearance, he mentioned his father’s strong reactions to headlines, acknowledging that Ed has a tendency to overreact to sensationalized stories.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been in a relationship since July 2023, with reports indicating that Kelce was concerned about Swift’s safety after a canceled concert due to a security threat. Despite reaching out to her, Kelce’s NFL commitments prevent him from immediately being by her side.
