Travis Scott, a prominent figure in the music industry, encountered an unexpected issue with security during the Lakers vs. Clippers game on Tuesday night.
While seated courtside alongside Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and his daughter Kylie, Scott had a close call with a security guard at the Intuit Dome.
Security blunder involving Travis Scott
Although he is a globally recognized musician, Scott was mistakenly assumed to be someone else as he was leaving the floor post-game.
Wearing a brown coat, green shirt, and sporting a chain, the rapper walked by a security guard who did not recognize him.
The guard, unaware of Scott’s identity, grabbed the back of his coat, halting his exit.
Scott attempted to break free, but the guard’s tight grip slowed him down.
Nearby staff quickly stepped in, ensuring Scott was safely released from the awkward encounter.
After readjusting his jacket, the rapper exited the court looking largely unaffected by the incident.
Neither Clippers officials nor the Intuit Dome have commented on the incident, which appeared to stem from a simple misidentification.
Known for his hits like “SICKO MODE,” Scott has graced prestigious platforms, including the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019, making this confusion quite unexpected.
His career is thriving, with his recent single, “4X4,” reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 just days ago.
Hopefully, next time Scott attends a game, security will be more aware of his celebrity status.
In the meantime, fans can celebrate that the minor incident didn’t overshadow the Lakers’ impressive 122-97 triumph over the Clippers, especially with Luka Doncic‘s recent move to the team.
