Scott was taken into custody early Friday after an incident at the Georges V hotel where he was accused of violence against a security guard. The altercation reportedly involved the rapper and his bodyguard, with the hotel security guard intervening.

The rapper was visiting Paris for the Olympics and had attended the men’s basketball semifinal where the United States played against Serbia on Thursday evening.

Travis Scott, born Jacques Webster, is a prominent figure in hip hop with numerous Billboard Hot 100 hits to his name, including chart-toppers like “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.” He shares two children with his former partner, media personality and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner.

Earlier in June, Scott was arrested in Miami Beach on charges of trespassing and public intoxication. The arrest stemmed from an incident at the city’s marina where he was reportedly shouting obscenities from a yacht and refused to comply with authorities’ instructions to leave.
