Zac Efron found himself in a perilous situation in Ibiza when he struck the pool’s floor in what appeared to be a mishap during a dive.
With the Paris 2024 Olympic Games showcasing professional diving, Efron might opt out of shallow-water dives for the foreseeable future.
The 36-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital on August 2nd after a morning swim with friends at his villa in Ibiza. Initially termed a ‘swimming incident,’ TMZ later disclosed that Efron impacted the pool bottom and ‘ingested a large volume of water into his lungs.’
Assistance After the Incident
Staff at the compound assisted him out of the pool while he showed signs of distress, prompting his hospitalization for precautionary measures. A subsequent x-ray revealed no lingering water in his lungs, a critical issue. Although cleared to leave after a few hours, Efron chose to stay due to paparazzi outside.
Efron posted a photo of himself weightlifting on an exercise ball in Ibiza, confirming his recovery and well-being. “Happy and healthy,” he captioned the picture. “Thanks for the well wishes.”
After concluding his stay in Ibiza, Efron returned to the United States of America on August 5, leaving the health scare in the past.
