Various sources suggested that the former President and First Lady were contemplating divorce, particularly noting Michelle‘s absence at major events such as Donald Trump‘s inauguration and the memorial of former President Jimmy Carter.
However, these claims have proven to be baseless, particularly the rumors suggesting that Barack had been unfaithful to Michelle with actress Jennifer Aniston.
The rumors about Obama and Aniston first emerged in August when In Touch Weekly published fabrications suggesting “Michelle feels betrayed” due to Aniston‘s supposed influence on her husband. The article featured a mix of exaggerated phrases and bullet points about their perceived affair based on dubious gossip.
This publication has a track record of supporting Donald Trump according to reports from Vanity Fair.
Aniston addressed these unfounded allegations on Jimmy Kimmel Live in October, emphatically stating, “That is absolutely untrue,” adding that she has only met Barack once and knows Michelle better.
She humorously commented on the absurdity of such stories generated by tabloids, indicating her surprise rather than irritation.
Social Media Speculation
Driving much of the gossip was the Instagram account DeuxMoi, which is known for sharing celebrity rumors. On January 14, they posted a comment about receiving unverified information regarding the couple’s separation.
Just a week later, DeuxMoi released a new podcast episode discussing the rumors, expressing skepticism and suggesting that the claims seemed implausible, simply a product of the gossip mill.
