Kayla Nicole, former partner of Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, has recently drawn attention again, but it’s not quite the kind she hoped for. In the second episode of the series, Nicole was open about the effects of their highly scrutinized breakup. She stated, “Honestly, a public breakup has been quite overwhelming.” She voiced her annoyance with being referred to simply as “someone’s ex-girlfriend,” feeling it minimized her true identity.
Nicole’s emotional journey continued as she read a personal letter in the latest episode, expressing her dreams of family life. “Part of me wishes I could say goodbye to my husband and kids,” she mentioned, implying the life she expected to have. While she avoided mentioning Kelce directly, it was clear who she referred to.

Despite her sincerity, the reaction on social media was harsh as viewers labeled her for frequently discussing Kelce, particularly since he is now in a relationship with Taylor Swift. One user joked, “She is so mad.” Another suggested, “Perhaps if she had picked up the bill occasionally, Travis wouldn’t have left her.” Some comments were even harsher, calling her “bitter” and “envious.”
Is Taylor Swift a Factor?
Adding to the drama, reports indicate that Nicole feels alienated from the Chiefs‘ social scene due to Kelce’s relationship with Swift. Formerly close to Brittany Mahomes and other wives of players, Nicole now feels excluded, which some believe is intensifying her frustration.
Although Nicole may be expressing real feelings, her continuous references to Kelce have made her a target for ridicule online. Whether she’s seeking closure or struggling to move on, fan reactions show little compassion.
