Untold Stories of Charles Manson: Insights from a Revealing Docuseries

New details about serial killer Charles Manson before his spree of terror revealed in docuseries

Terrifying insights into the infamous serial killer Charles Manson and his past have emerged through a new documentary series.

‘Making Manson’ is a three-part docuseries available on Peacock that explores Manson’s criminal life through various interviews and two decades worth of phone call recordings he had with friends.

Manson, the notorious leader of the ‘Manson family’ cult, was responsible for the murders of at least nine individuals, including the actress Sharon Tate, during the late 1960s to early 70s.

One revealing audio clip included in the series shows that Manson was connected to several murders while he was residing in Mexico during the 1960s.

“There’s a part of my life that’s completely unknown. I lived in Mexico for a while. I went to Acapulco and stole some cars,” Manson disclosed in a clip shared by Peacock.

“I got mixed up in situations that were beyond my control. I was involved in a couple of killings. I left my .357 Magnum in Mexico City, along with some bodies on the beach.”

Overview of the series

This documentary series emphasizes Manson’s past prior to forming the ‘family,’ predominantly made up of women.

A former cellmate, Phil Kaufman, shares his experiences of life with Manson.

Charlie was adept at being malicious while concealing it,” he noted. “He would eliminate anything that interfered with his plans, but he did so with a gentle touch.”

Others affiliated with Manson indicated that they overlooked his criminal background, which included offenses like rape and theft, before the horrific events involving Tate and others.

“I heard he had just been released from jail or prison – I never really knew the specifics, and that wasn’t alarming in the 60s,” music producer Gregg Jakobson remarked.

“Had we known he had committed murder, that would have been a different story. But we only knew he had recently gotten out of jail.”
