Gretchen Carlson accuses Steve Doocy of misconduct
It seems clear that Gretchen Carlson holds a strong disapproval of Steve Doocy. In 2016, she made headlines when she brought a lawsuit against Roger Ailes, the former CEO of Fox News, asserting that she was let go for rejecting his sexual proposals. However, the lawsuit included further claims. Carlson, in documents acquired by CBS News, accused her ex-colleague Doocy of fostering a toxic workplace through frequently belittling her in a sexist manner. She recounted that when she raised concerns regarding Doocy’s actions, Ailes dismissed her by labeling her a “man hater” and suggesting she should learn to “fit in with the men.”
While Doocy has not publicly addressed Carlson’s claims, Ailes strongly denied them, asserting, “This is a counter-suit motivated by the network’s choice not to extend her contract, which was primarily due to her unsatisfactory ratings negatively impacting the afternoon segment,” he stated in a statement.
