She had just wrapped up her role in “Battlestar Galactica” and was about to shine in “Sanctuary.” Unfortunately, she chose to ignore her discomfort for over a year, prioritizing work over her health.
Eventually, the pain intensified, prompting her to seek medical advice. An MRI revealed a tumor at the base of her spine, leading to a challenging period filled with fear. In 2009, she underwent surgery to remove the tumor along with part of her tailbone and sacrum. While the tumor was benign, recovery took a substantial five months.
