The Miss America organization has revealed that it will grant over $300,000 in scholarships to winners at the upcoming Miss America 2025 and Miss America for Teens competitions scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida.
Events for both the preliminary and final competitions are set to happen from December 28 through January 5, with the preliminaries taking place at the Walt Disney Theater located in the Dr. Phillips Center. A special talent showcase called “Miss America Has Talent” will occur on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
Introducing the New Miss America 2025
Every year, the legendary Miss America competition distributes over $5 million in scholarships to aspiring young women nationwide, along with additional funding through local and national events.
The selected winner of Miss America 2025 will enjoy the experience of traveling as a brand ambassador and will be awarded a $50,000 scholarship for tuition.
Additionally, the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2025 also includes a $50,000 scholarship towards an accredited institution or the option of a four-year scholarship to the University of Alabama, famous for TikTok’s “Bama Rush“.
Competition Criteria and Eligibility
Contestants wishing to compete in Miss America must be between 18 and 28 years old, while those aged 14 to 17 can participate in Miss America’s Teen pageant.
Participants in Miss America cannot be married or have children, a guideline supported by past winners like Grace Stanke and Camille Schrier during interviews.
This competition features various segments, including talent showcases, evening wear, interviews, and fitness assessments. The swimsuit competition was removed in 2018, marking a shift away from judging based on physical appearance.
Scholarship Opportunities
Miss America was among the first organizations in the U.S. to provide college scholarships for women, starting this initiative in 1945.
This year, the organization announced more than $250,000 in scholarship opportunities for the Miss America 2024 and Miss America’s Teen competitions.
The winner of the Miss America title will be granted a $60,000 tuition scholarship, while the teen victor may choose a similar $60,000 scholarship for a college of their choice or a four-year scholarship to the University of Alabama.
