Certain fans criticize Jasmine Roth’s design preferences
Jasmine Roth showcases her construction and design talents on television, yet not all HGTV viewers are thrilled with her aesthetic choices.
While many agree that Roth possesses charm and beauty, her design approach sparked mixed feelings in a predominantly positive Reddit discussion about her. “She’s very engaging, but her decorating style isn’t for me,” noted one user. “It always feels lacking.” Another commenter mentioned, “I really like her, but I’m not a fan of live edge wood. To me, it appears unfinished and difficult to clean.” Conversely, a third person wasn’t wholly opposed to her designs; they just suggested she tone it down a bit. “I generally appreciate her style but think she sometimes goes a bit overboard,” wrote that fan. “She could benefit from adopting a principle of designing and then editing by removing 20-40% of her concepts… For instance, she redesigned a kitchen with a narrow island between the sink and stove. Who would want that?”
Design is inherently subjective, making universal approval nearly impossible. Still, Roth acknowledged she’s adjusting her project approach. “Since I became a parent, I’ve significantly toned down my design style,” she shared with Modern Luxury Interior. “We still incorporate various textures and hues, but I’ve definitely become more restrained with my color choices and aim to reduce clutter. I want my home to be a serene environment, providing a counterbalance to our family chaos.” In this context, that chaos refers to her expanding family, which she embraces wholeheartedly.
