Chloe Bailey Discusses How She and Her Character in “Praise This” Both Believe in the Power of Positive Thinking

Chloe Bailey stars in the upcoming movie “Praise This” as Sam, an ambitious young singer whose music career is taking off. Although there are some differences between her life and Sam’s, Bailey was able to find strong connections to her character. She relates to Sam’s ambition and also draws from her own experiences singing in school choirs and visiting family in South Carolina. Bailey is also releasing her debut solo album, “In Pieces,” around the same time the film comes out.

Directed by Tina Gordon, “Praise This” follows Sam’s journey into the world of competitive gospel youth choirs. It blends comedy and faith, sinners and saints, and the club and church. The cast includes Tristan Mack Wilds, Quavo, Loren Lott, Kiara Iman Heffner, Ilario Grant, Crystal Hayslett, Cocoa Brown, Vanessa Fraction, and gospel stars Jekalyn Carr and Koryn Hawthorne.
