Netflix’s new teen series “XO, Kitty” visits Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) four years after the events of the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” film trilogy. In those movies, Kitty’s older sister Lara Jean — the middle of three girls — found love with Peter Kavinsky, and fans also fell for Lana Condor and Noah Centineo who played them. In the new series, Kitty is beginning her junior year of high school, and she’s determined to head to South Korea to attend the Korean Independent School of Seoul — aka KISS — where her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Choi Min-young) attends.

While the series is focused squarely on Kitty and her own adventure, TATBILB fans might wonder if Lara Jean, Peter, and the third Song sister Margot (Janel Parrish) appear in the TV series. Here’s what to know.

Do Peter and Lara Jean Appear in “XO, Kitty”?

Peter and Lara Jean do appear in “XO, Kitty” — kind of. In the very first episode, Kitty is convincing her dad (played by John Corbett) that she should get to go to South Korea to attend KISS for her junior year to be with Dae, and she uses her matchmaking résumé as evidence that she knows what real deal love is. She points out that she set up her dad with their neighbor and his now-wife Trina (Sarayu Blue) and that she knew Peter and Lara Jean were meant to be together. She shows a photo of the pair embracing. That’s basically it for Peter’s appearance.

Once Kitty makes it to South Korea, she does mention — and text with — Lara Jean throughout her fall semester, but fans never see her onscreen again. But, the show does sort of serve as a resolution to the cliffhanger the third film, “To All the Boys: Always and Forever,” left fans with. At the end of the movie, LJ decides to go to NYU, while Peter picks Stanford. They’re optimistic they can stay together through the years. Since “XO, Kitty” is set four years later, it seems they’ve made it to senior year of college still happily coupled.

Does Margot Appear in “XO, Kitty”?

Margot does not appear, though, like Lara Jean, she is mentioned many times. In fact, this offscreen sister actually becomes essential to the plot. Kitty texts Margot, who is still in the UK, to help her friend Yuri (Gia Kim) track down her girlfriend Juliana (Regan Aliya), whose parents had whisked her away before “XO, Kitty” starts. Margot comes through and connects the girls — all without actually appearing on screen.

But if the show comes back for season two, there’s always time for some IRL Song sister cameos.

“XO, Kitty” is streaming now on Netflix.
