Grimes and Elon Musk Explain Reason Behind Naming Their Baby X Æ A-12

On March 23, Grimes revealed that she and Elon Musk had decided to change their second daughter’s name. In a tweet, the “Player of Games” singer stated that the new name was “Y now, or ‘Why?’ or just ‘?’ (But the government won’t recognize that).” She further mentioned that the name was chosen to represent “curiosity” and “the eternal question.” This was in response to a fan’s tweet which referred to the baby as “Sailor Mars.” It is likely that Grimes and Musk are fans of the manga series “Sailor Moon,” as they had previously been known to call their daughter “Sailor Mars.” Vanity Fair had previously reported that the couple had nicknamed their daughter “Y” before they publicly revealed her full name. This new name also matches with Grimes and Musk’s first son, X, making the kids “X” and “Y.”
