The third season of the hit show “Ted Lasso” is on its way and series creator and star Jason Sudeikis has all but confirmed that it will be the last. In a recent interview with Deadline, Sudeikis joked that there’s always Cameo for Ted to return, but added that this is the end of the story they wanted to tell. He also noted that he appreciates the curiosity fans have for what comes next, but until all 12 episodes of the season have been released, he won’t know for sure.
Apple TV+ released the full trailer for the show on Feb. 27, which showed shots of Ted and the Richmond gang as they fight for glory on and off the pitch. On Jan. 18, they released a first-look photo of Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed) facing off with Ted and another villainous character, Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head). On Feb. 14, they released a teaser for the new season.
“Ted Lasso” was created by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt (who also plays Coach Beard), and Joe Kelly. Lawrence serves as showrunner. The first season was nominated for 13 awards at the 2021 Emmys, with Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, and Brett Goldstein taking home wins. Sudeikis and Goldstein repeated their acting wins in 2022.
