Sibling rivalry is real, even for megastars like the Jonas Brothers. On a recent episode of Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, Joe Jonas admitted that he still experiences jealousy toward his brothers at times, especially when it comes to new career opportunities. In fact, when Nick Jonas booked his coaching job on “The Voice” in 2019, Joe was so jealous that he cried his eyes out during a Fleetwood Mac concert.

“I’m super happy for him but I’m also, like, bummed because I wanted that f*cking gig.”

“It was at the Fleetwood Mac show at [Madison Square Garden] and as they were playing ‘Landslide,’ I found out that he was going to be a judge on ‘The Voice,'” Joe recalls. “And I was so jealous I cried my eyes out to ‘Landslide.’ It was bittersweet, of course, because I’m super happy for him but I’m also, like, bummed because I wanted that f*cking gig.”

A year earlier, in 2018, Joe joined Boy George, Kelly Rowland, and Delta Goodrem as a coach on the Australian iteration of “The Voice.” “He crushed it,” Nick said of Joe’s coaching gig. On the US version of the singing competition, Nick coached alongside Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend during season 18 and season 20. Nick also served as an advisor for Christina Aguilera’s team during season eight in 2015.

It’s clear that Joe would be open to leading a new team of vocalists if the opportunity presented itself. With two full seasons under his belt, maybe Nick will put in a good word if a spot opens up beside him in the spinning red chairs. In the meantime, the brothers are more than happy to get together to sing “Camp Rock” songs and discuss their latest album release.

Listen to the full “Armchair Expert” episode ahead to hear more about Nick’s decision to attend therapy after a guitar solo gone wrong, the Jonas Brothers’ new album, “The Album,” and how the siblings navigate fame.
