Ojeda, the film features Oksana Orlan, a Ukrainian-American actress, who not only stars in the lead role but also co-wrote and produced the film with Ojeda. The story unfolds in the tumultuous landscapes of South America, showcasing a skilled assassin’s struggle to escape her violent history while being compelled into a conflict to defend an innocent family.
In Dominique, Orlan portrays a hitwoman who seeks solace in a tranquil village. Unfortunately, this seemingly peaceful town is rife with corrupt officials and dangerous drug cartels. Following a devastating event that leaves her with nothing but loss, Dominique confronts a dilemma: to run away or to retaliate. As expected, she chooses the latter. Many might find Dominique’s character reminiscent of Sarah Connor from Terminator 2, echoing overused themes of a solitary assassin battling societal ills. Nevertheless, the performances from the cast, which includes Maurice Compte, Jose Conejo Martin, and Maria Del Rosario, could potentially elevate the narrative beyond typical direct-to-video releases.
Ojeda, recognized for his work on films such as Avenged and The Russian Bride, helms this fast-paced crime thriller with vigorous intensity.
