Stephen and Ayesha Curry are having quite the eventful August. After celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary in Greece, the power couple returned home and stopped by Paramore’s Aug. 7 concert in San Francisco, where Stephen joined the rock band on stage to sing “Misery Business.” Lead singer Hayley Williams introduced Stephen by his Golden State Warriors jersey number, 30, while welcoming him in front of the Chase Center crowd with a hug.
Stephen proved his skills aren’t just limited to the basketball court, pouring his heart and soul into a passionate rendition of Paramore’s popular 2007 track alongside Williams. He belted out every single lyric and danced around on stage during the song’s guitar solo like a true rockstar. It was a slam dunk of a performance, if we do say so ourselves.
“What a full circle moment.”
Though Stephen and Paramore may seem like the world’s most random pairing, the band has actually played a big role in his relationship with wife Ayesha. “Woaaaaaaah! We listened to paramore on one of our first dates … and many years later they were kind enough to perform at his 30th,” Ayesha explained while sharing footage of the duet on Instagram Stories. “This is SO FREAKING COOL! What a full circle moment. Thank you @paramore and @yelyahwilliams … ‘still into you’ took the night for us. Honestly, one of the coolest nights.”
Stephen isn’t the first famous concert attendee to sing “Misery Business” alongside Paramore during their ongoing “This Is Why” Tour: Lil Uzi Vert and Rico Nasty also took the stage in New York City and Inglewood, CA, respectively, to perform the same song. The pop-punk group previously announced their decision to stop singing the hit because it featured some derogatory language, but they brought it out of retirement with Billie Eilish’s help at Coachella last year.
