Representatives of Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) revealed that starting today, 22 airports nationwide will broadcast documentaries detailing the life and achievements of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
These documentaries, created by various media organizations, will be screened on public displays at the airports during the period of national mourning.
Since July 20, vibrant commercials on public screens have been halted not only at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai airports but at all airports across the nation. Cultural and sports activities have been put on hold, and flags are being flown at half-mast.
ACV officials have directed their teams to improve infrastructure, equipment, and staff to ensure smooth operations for flights carrying domestic and international dignitaries attending the state funeral.
Prior to this, the Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Dinh Viet Thang, issued a directive to implement heightened Level 1 aviation security protocols at airports, air traffic service providers, airlines, and other aviation service providers during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s state funeral.
These security measures will be enforced from 5:00 pm on July 22, 2024, until midnight on July 26, 2024. Airports will increase the presence of aviation security personnel and guards in restricted areas, conduct metal detector screenings on individuals, and visually inspect people, items, and vehicles entering restricted zones.
Moreover, airports will strengthen identity verification procedures during check-in and security checks, randomly visually inspect passengers and carry-on baggage, and restrict activities in public terminal areas. Checked luggage not accompanied by a passenger will be visually inspected after passing through scanners before boarding.
